Christmas Caroling

We had some friends over Sunday night to eat yummy desserts and drink hot cocoa.  They had to sing a Christmas carol before entering our home.  We’ve done this before and had such a great time that we wanted to do it again.  It’s always so fun to see what they come up with on the spot.
Friends make the Holidays so FUN!!!
The first to arrive were The Britts singing Jingle Bells.
Cory and his girls were next.
Tait Family
Crosland Family
The Jones family

Erika and Chad.  They came over later on, so I took a picture of them.
Oh and they sang Silent night at the door, but it didn’t get recorded.  Dang it!  You guys will have to do a redo.  Ha ha!  🙂

Festival of Trees

I took one last girls trip this year up to Utah to see my sisters and go to the Festival of Trees.  This is one of my favorite things to go to.  Every year companies and individuals make all kinds of themed Christmas trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, quilts, etc. to donate to the festival.  The festival then displays all of the trees and has a bidding on them the first Tuesday of December.  This is the most fun day to go!  The money donated all goes to Primary Children’s Hospital.  On the first weekend of the month you can go and see all of the trees and items that were made that year.  My sister made a “Bee-True” tree with her beehive class.  It was so cute and fun to see.  There are always so many unique and creative trees that stand out.  It’s overwhelming.  There are so many rows and rows of trees it is impossible to see or remember them all.  Perhaps, the best part of the night is that so many of the trees get donated and made in memory of someone.  The stories and pictures of these people are attached so as you walk by you can read all about that person and their spirit.  In many cases, the trees are made showing that persons favorite hobby or talent or dreams they had.  There is such a sweet spirit there and you can’t help but feel the true meaning of Christmas and the spirit of giving!

 My sister’s “Bee-True” tree
A tree full of more beanie babies than I’ve ever seen.
 I loved the ice skates.
At least two trees were made from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” movie.  Loved it!
This tree has a train track that goes through the middle of it.  So Cool!
Mickey Mouse’s tree and friends.  The playhouse goes with in.  Notice the roof and how it’s made of Mickey ears.
This is a whole bedroom set.  Everything with or under the trees are always sold with the trees unless otherwise indicated.
This is our family tree.  Our family plays more cards than anyone!
 More Disney trees
I loved this wreath and decorations.
Brooke and Dani would love me to bring this tree and items home to them.  🙂

Grinch tree, tilted and everything.  Ha ha!
There’s even baseball trees that reminded me of Matt!
Golf too!    If you can think if or dream it… it’s probably there!
The largest gingerbread house I’ve ever seen.  It was so cool  They had it on s spinning turntable so it would turn and you could stay in the same spot and see it from all of the different angles.
The quilt section reminded me of my MIL, Elizabeth.  She would love this part!

It was so cold and snowed a lot while I was there.
I love visiting Utah.  It is so pretty, but I love the heat and I love that I live in Arizona.  🙂
Salt Lake skyline.  I love the mountains!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my side of the family in St. George.  It was so great.  It could not have gone better.  Our girls love being with all their girl cousins.  And I love being with my sweet family.  We got to do lots of fun things and truly enjoy one another’s company.  Pics from our trip are HERE.

Girls Trip to Oregon

In November I went on another girls trip to Portland, Oregon.  This one was with my friends from Minnesota, but none of us live there anymore so we met up in Portland where Emily lives.  These ladies are so much fun to be with.  Honestly, I love them to pieces.  The best part about friendships is how we can go months and sometimes years without keeping in that great of touch and then we get together and it seems like no time has passed at all.  What a great time!  I treasure these friendships sooooooooo MUCH!!!

We met Stacey for lunch.  We know her from MN as well, but she also moved to Portland.  It was so great to catch up with everything going on in her life.  I loved it!
Salt and Straw, I got the sea salt caramel ice cream.  It was the best ice cream I have ever had.  So Yummy!
Chocolate shots!  Amazing!!  Almost TOO much!!!  ha ha
