I took one last girls trip this year up to Utah to see my sisters and go to the Festival of Trees. This is one of my favorite things to go to. Every year companies and individuals make all kinds of themed Christmas trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, quilts, etc. to donate to the festival. The festival then displays all of the trees and has a bidding on them the first Tuesday of December. This is the most fun day to go! The money donated all goes to Primary Children’s Hospital. On the first weekend of the month you can go and see all of the trees and items that were made that year. My sister made a “Bee-True” tree with her beehive class. It was so cute and fun to see. There are always so many unique and creative trees that stand out. It’s overwhelming. There are so many rows and rows of trees it is impossible to see or remember them all. Perhaps, the best part of the night is that so many of the trees get donated and made in memory of someone. The stories and pictures of these people are attached so as you walk by you can read all about that person and their spirit. In many cases, the trees are made showing that persons favorite hobby or talent or dreams they had. There is such a sweet spirit there and you can’t help but feel the true meaning of Christmas and the spirit of giving!
I love visiting Utah. It is so pretty, but I love the heat and I love that I live in Arizona. 🙂
Wow. That is a lot of Christmas decor! Your snow pictures are really pretty. Merry Christmas!
